Every loadout in WolfTeam Legacy ends the same way: whatever guns you pick, the knife comes with you. The melee class is the second smallest weapon shelf in the shop, it has its own room rule, its own tutorial drills, and the one match style that turns the whole game into a duel of reflexes — Knife-Only Deathmatch. This guide walks through the full melee shelf, what the legacy item cards say about each blade, how the prices ladder up, and how the game teaches you to fight up close.

A shelf of eight, half of it new

The shop's melee rack currently lists eight items: five Gold weapons (C5-TFK, RMK4, C-Nadea, SPY-W and WSW) and three Wolf Coin weapons (Default Knife, K3-TK and T1 AXE). Only the rocket launcher class is smaller. Four of the eight — RMK4, C-Nadea, SPY-W and WSW — are marked as newly listed in the current shop generation, so the melee shelf effectively doubled with the big catalog expansion, while C5-TFK, Default Knife, K3-TK and T1 AXE were already sitting on it.

One curiosity from the catalog data: alongside the sellable knives, the item band also reserves unlisted "Strong Attack" entries for Default Knife, C5-TFK and K3-TK. They are not for sale and appear nowhere in the shop — a leftover of the legacy item data.

What the item cards say

Four of the eight shelf items carry the classic legacy description cards; the other four have no card, and their names come straight from the catalog. Default Knife weighs 0.5 kg, is "made of special alloy", light and substantial, and is described as the close-combat main weapon of the "wolf 1st battalion". C5-TFK, at 0.3 kg, is the lightest carded weapon in the entire game; its camouflaged painting supposedly lets it show "strategy performances" better than a C.Q.C knife. K3-TK, 0.7 kg, is modeled on the khukuri of the Gurkha mercenaries: curved like a boomerang, with the center of gravity at the end of the blade for higher striking power.

The fourth card belongs to T1 AXE, all 2 kg of it — a hand axe "used in order to enter into an enclosed space by a Special Force... not for war, but still used." The card is honest about the trade-off: more striking power and offensive range than a knife, less speed.

The cards list "1 round" in the ammunition field — legacy notation we keep exactly as written. Card lore is flavor, not stats: the shop prices every class almost flat within its family, and melee is no exception.

Prices: two ladders and one axe

All five Gold melee items sit on the same standard Gold ladder as every other Gold gun family: 1.200 Gold for one day, 7.200 for a week, 24.000 for a month, and 216.000 for the permanent copy. On the Wolf Coin side, Default Knife and K3-TK use the usual weapon ladder of 10, 60 and 200 WC for 1, 7 and 30 days with no permanent option, while T1 AXE sits on the higher 13, 75 and 250 tier — the same tier the shop uses for characters and most cosmetics.

The knife you already own

Here is the quirk: every account receives the Default Knife permanently at registration, and the server's starter kit protects it — it cannot expire or be taken away. Yet the same Default Knife is also sold on the WC shelf as a rental. If you buy it anyway, the permanent-priority selection described in our item duration guide means the copy you equip is your free permanent one. One more rule from the client's own messages: the knife is the weapon you can never discard from your inventory.

Every preset carries its own blade

Loadout presets in WolfTeam Legacy are more than a primary and a pistol. The server's equipment layout gives each of the four presets six slots: primary weapon, a purchased second main weapon, secondary weapon, two grenade slots and a dedicated knife slot. Your knife choice is part of each set, so you can keep the axe on one preset and a blade on another and swap between them in the lobby.

How the game teaches close combat

The tutorial's close-combat block breaks melee work into three drills: kill with the left hand, kill with the right hand, and use the counter attack — performed, in the client's own words, by "clicking mouse left and right at the same time". For the full key map around it, our controls and settings guide has you covered.

Knife-Only rooms

Room hosts can set the weapon restriction the client calls "Knife Mode" — "Sadece Bıçak" in Turkish — the same rule family as pistol-only, sniper-only and heavy-weapon rooms. And Knife-Only Deathmatch is not a relic: the site's compatibility table marks "Deathmatch / Knife Only" as verified with the real client, selected weapon and knife-only attack. If you have never tried it, a Knife-Only room is the purest aim-and-timing duel WolfTeam Legacy offers.

Wolves do it too

Melee is not just for humans. The same weapon text table that describes your knives also documents the wolf side — "Wolf Melee Attack" and "Wolf Hand" — and in a wolf form your claws are your firepower. The forms, mutations and their named abilities are covered in our wolf transformation and wolf types guides.

Quick takeaways

The melee shelf is eight items: five Gold, three Wolf Coin, second smallest after the launchers. Gold melee follows the standard 1.200-to-216.000 ladder; WC melee is 10, 60 and 200, with the axe on the cosmetic 13, 75 and 250 tier. Everyone owns the Default Knife permanently; the axe buys power and range at the cost of speed; and every preset carries its own knife slot. Drill the two-button counter attack, then queue into a Knife-Only Deathmatch — the compatibility table says the client is verified for exactly that.
