Every WolfTeam Legacy match puts two fighters on the field: the soldier you control and the wolf you become mid-round. Before any of that starts, there is a quieter choice that follows you into every lobby - which hero represents you on each team. This guide walks through the character system on Wolfory: the Choose Your Character screen, the red and blue team rosters, how unlocking works, and what a character actually changes in a match.
The Choose Your Character screen
Your character collection lives in its own in-game screen titled "Choose your character" (Karakterini sec in the Turkish client). It presents your heroes as a rotating 3D preview, and the controls are simple:
- Left mouse button moves to the next character, right mouse button returns to the previous one. - Space switches the camera between observe points. - W, A, S and D move the camera around the model, Shift raises it and Ctrl lowers it.
Take your time here. The preview is the best place to compare faces, outfits and the Special Edition variants before you commit to one as your team main.
One hero for each side
WolfTeam Legacy matches pit two teams against each other, and the character system mirrors that: every hero in the game belongs to one side, red or blue. Your account keeps a separate main character for each team, and the match roster shows your current pick for the side you are playing. When you set a hero as your team main, the game confirms it plainly - a message tells you which character is now your main for that color.
The sides are enforced by the server, not just the menu. If a selection is ever invalid - a character you do not own, or a hero from the wrong side - the game quietly falls back to your Basic character for that team instead of breaking the match. That means you can experiment freely; the worst case is that the game hands you the default hero.
Your first two characters are free and permanent
Every new account starts with both Basic characters already owned: Red Basic (William Kroll) on the red side and Blue Basic (Duane Eddy) on the blue side. They are granted permanently at registration and are protected - they never expire and cannot be discarded, no matter how you rearrange your inventory later.
They are also the fallback pair from the previous section, so together they guarantee you always have a valid hero on both sides from your very first login.
Meet the roster
Beyond the two Basics, the shop's CHAR tab lists more than two dozen named heroes spread across both sides. Familiar faces include Angela Mao, Christopher Smith, Adriana Tenorio, Pedro Gomes, Marien Arnault, Reinhard Schneider, Lin Meiling, Hamadah bin Shabah, Tomita Yasuko, Yigit Demir, Illude Vaganova Ivanov and Geremi Song. Many of them come in variants - Special Edition, Adult Edition or SE - that give an existing hero a fresh look.
Characters are priced in both of the game's earned currencies: some are bought with Gold, others with Wolf Coin (WC). Both currencies are earned by playing - nothing in the shop is sold for real money.
Limits worth knowing
Two caps shape a collector's journey. You can own at most 10 characters at once, and up to 250 character-related items in total on one account. Plan purchases around those ceilings: if you are at the character cap, a new hero means letting go of an old favorite, so pick mains rather than hoarding every release.
Does a character change your power?
No. On Wolfory your character is your identity in the match - the model your teammates recognize and the face the result screen shows. Your combat strength comes from your weapon loadout, your equipment and the smart use of your wolf form, not from which hero you picked. That is deliberate: it keeps every character choice a style decision, never a pay-to-win one.
A simple starter plan
1. Play your first matches with the free Basic pair - they are permanent, so there is no rush. 2. Spend your first Gold on permanent weapons first; the shop spending guide on this blog walks through that order. 3. When your WC pile allows it, pick the hero whose look you actually like from the CHAR tab and set them as your main for their side. 4. Check both mains before queueing - the roster screen shows exactly which hero each team will get.
Choose a hero you enjoy looking at, master the loadout behind them, and the character system becomes what it was designed to be: your signature in every WolfTeam Legacy match on Wolfory.
